Good news for today

HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR YOUR LIFE: In Jeremiah God speaks through his prophet an encouraging word to all believers - for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jer 29:11.)  As a believer can we believe this?  We can.  We all have a future.  God not only wants to give us a prosperous future, he wants to give us hope on our journey.  Hope encourages us; it preserves us when we are going through the wilderness, the difficult times in our lives.  Hope causes us to "hold on" when we want to let go and say "what's the use" when we are close to despair.  This is the other dimension of hope.  And yet hope gives God time to put things right in our lives.  We think he is doing nothing but he has us where he wants us, and yes sometimes in a "holding pattern" while he can work on us.  While we think that nothing much is happening we have hope that things will be different, that things will change, if only we can trust in God.  Never let go of hope.
